Apple CarPlay

Nowadays, automakers are looking for any way of incorporating hands-free technology into their vehicles in order to maximize safety. Their job just got easier thanks to the recent announcement of Apple CarPlay, which can control an iPhone through your car.

CarPlay will essentially allow you to see your iPhone in the dashboard of your car. Ferrari, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, and Volvo have already signed on for this new technology. And, according to Yahoo!  Autos, “Apple says more than a dozen other brands have signed on to eventually offer the software, including Toyota, Chevrolet and Ford.”

The system will only be available to those with an iPhone 5, 5C and 5S. It will allow users to make and receive calls, text messages, emails and voicemails. CarPlay will also be tied to iTunes, Apple Maps, and even iHeartRadio and Spotify.

We at Germain Mercedes-Benz of Easton are excited about this new technology, aren’t you?
