About The Mercedes-EQ EQS SUV

Here to usher in a new era in electrified luxury, the EQS SUV serves as the flagship SUV for the Mercedes-EQ electric vehicle range. As the name suggests, the EQS SUV is closely related to the EQS sedan, but a number of features differentiate them, such as an off-road mode and an optional third row of seats. The electric drivetrain helps deliver an unparalleled level of quiet, while air suspension provides a supremely comfortable ride. More traditional luxury elements are blended in as well, so the comfortable, leather-wrapped, heated, and ventilated seats you've come to expect in a Mercedes are present too. A premium stereo system comes standard as well, and can fill the spacious cabin with 3D surround sound.

What the Critics Say

Inside, the EQS SUV features the type of rich materials and high-tech equipment that define modern-day Mercedes-Benz models. Its list of standard interior features includes selectable ambient lighting, heated and ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, and wireless charging. The 56-inch Hyperscreen is optional. The fit-and-finish is impressive and the cabin is also rife with thoughtfully-designed storage spaces, including a large bin below the floating center console.” — Car & Driver

The Mercedes-EQ line continues to impress with top-notch interior quality. The material quality in the EQS SUV is outstanding. Everything you touch from the driver's seat feels premium. The seats are supremely comfortable. The steering wheel has a nice heft, feeling luxurious without being too chunky. We also love the multi-color ambient interior lighting throughout the cabin, which looks especially cool while driving at night.” — Kelley Blue Book

Performance For Any Situation

All forms of the EQS SUV use the same 108.4 kWh battery, but the two trims of the EQS SUV come with different drivetrain options. The EQS 450 uses a single electric motor that produces 355 horsepower and 419 lb-ft of torque. Range for this model is 305 miles, and it comes with rear-wheel drive as standard, but all-wheel drive is available. The EQS 580 adds a second motor, and this brings horsepower up to 536, with 633 lb-ft of torque. All-wheel drive comes standard on the EQS 580. Both models have 4-wheel steering and air suspension as standard. There is an off-road mode that can raise the suspension to a ground clearance of 9 inches, and adjusts the throttle response.

Luxury Experience

The EQS SUV is an outstanding example of what Mercedes-EQ does well, a seamless mix of traditional luxury elements with the absolute cutting edge of technology. The heated and ventilated seats are covered in soft Nappa leather, and font seats include a massage function. There is HEPA filtration for the cabin air, and an option for yacht-inspired wood interior accents. During the day, a panoramic sunroof lets in natural light, while customizable ambient LED lighting fills the cabin at night. A premium Burmester 3D Surround Sound system with Dolby Atmos is standard, for a truly luxury listening experience. There is an optional third row of seats that brings the seating capacity up to 7, or leave it at five and enjoy 31 cubic feet of storage space behind the second row of seats.

Advanced Technology

The capabilities of the EQS SUV's electric drivetrain are impressive, but that's only the start of the incredible technology at work. One of the shared features of the EQS sedan and the EQS SUV is the Hyperscreen, a screen that stretches across the entire dash, for a total of 56 inches. This display includes sections for the gauge cluster, a huge infotainment screen, and a passenger screen that controls massage functions, audio, and more. There is an optional augmented reality function that can lay street names and arrows over live video on the infotainment screen, or project this information onto the windshield using the head-up display. On the outside, you'll notice exterior LED lighting that is specific to the Mercedes-EQ range.
