About The Mercedes-Benz GLC 350e Plug-In Hybrid
The GLC 350e is a trim level for the popular GLC SUV, but it is simultaneously so much more. While it might be the best-equipped and most powerful non-AMG® version of the GLC, it also introduces a plug-in hybrid drivetrain to the GLC lineup. This means the GLC 350e is capable of all-electric driving, and even when used in conjunction with the gasoline engine, it is incredibly efficient. This powerful drivetrain, together with the highly advanced 9-speed automatic transmission, allows for a 6.2-second 0-60 time. To go with this advanced drivetrain, you also have everything you already liked about the GLC, the comfortable and spacious interior, the advanced infotainment, and the incredibly smooth ride.
What the Critics Say
Beyond the downright impressive PHEV credentials, the GLC 350e is much the same as the standard GLC. It takes the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that powers the standard GLC and augments it with an electric motor that pulls from a big-for-a-PHEV 24.8-kWh battery. Power is sent to all four wheels.” — Edmunds
The GLC-class’s cabin wears nicely chosen upscale materials and a modern design with interestingly shaped HVAC vents on the dashboard and heavily digitized touchscreen-based control of the infotainment and HVAC systems.” — Car & Driver
What’s New for 2025
The GLC 350e and its plug-in hybrid drivetrain are new for 2025, but the rest of the vehicle is still a GLC, which just got a redesign last year, and carries over with that same design for 2025.
Mercedes-Benz GLC 350e Plug-In Hybrid Features
Versatile Drivetrain
It is the plug-in hybrid drivetrain that sets the GLC 350e apart from the rest of the GLC lineup. This drivetrain uses the same turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine as the standard GLC, but when connected to the rest of the plug-in hybrid drivetrain, there is a combined 313 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. This is noticeably more than the standard GLC, and it comes with other advantages as well. The GLC 350e can travel up to 54 miles on pure electric power, well above average for plug-in hybrids. Overall, the GLC 350e is rated at 60 MPGe for city fuel economy, and 70 MPGe for highway. The GLC 350e is also compatible with DC fast charging up to 60kW, allowing you to quickly add to the number of all-electric miles that you can drive in a day. The incredible efficiency of the hybrid drivetrain means that GLC 350e owners can go incredibly long periods without visiting a gas station.
Luxury Experience
Mercedes-Benz has created a signature luxury experience by blending the traditional luxury of high-quality materials and comfortable seats with cutting-edge technology that elevates the experience beyond what would otherwise be possible. So things like the available Nappa leather upholstery make for the perfect place to sit and enjoy the available Burmester® 3D Surround Sound System, all while the standard heated front seats and dual-zone climate control work to make sure the temperature is perfect. 64-color ambient lighting casts a soft glow over the interior at night, and with the available Panorama roof, you can also fill the cabin with warm natural light during the day. Standard self-leveling rear air suspension gives you incredibly smooth ride comfort no matter what the terrain.
Advanced Technology
The technology that goes into the plug-in hybrid drivetrain in the GLC 350e is impressive, but it’s far from the only impressive tech you’ll find on the vehicle. For example, the newly available DIGITAL LIGHT headlight technology can project icons onto the pavement in front of the vehicle to warn you of pedestrians, lane drift, or various other hazards. They will also adapt headlight beams to curves in the road or even other vehicles ahead. For those who want to take their GLC 350e offroading, there is the available “transparent hood”, an augmented video feed that allows you to see obstacles that would ordinarily be obscured from view by the vehicle’s hood. The powerful infotainment system runs on the 3rd generation of Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) software, and it includes features like over-the-air software updates, MB Navigation, real-time traffic information, and wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay compatibility.
